Live, laugh, love collage

Once I learned how to make collages from Jacqueline, I knew I would want to make more:) The Cherish Yesterday from Hero Arts set is so perfect for creating a nature-themed collage. I tried and tested lots of new stamps and various techniques. I mostly used watercolor paper, distress inks (Fades Jeans, Broken China, Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey), white and bronze embossing and black staz on ink for the sentiments. I love how peaceful and harmonious it is. The purple collage was my first attempt. These collages are so enjoyable to make and to give as gifts.
Here's a tip to share. It is very effective to use leftover strips of white paper ( a bit wider than your square). I repeatedly embossed the central part of a large stamp (such as Silhouette Grass), applied distress inks, sprinkled some water. After drying I stamped some small butterflies randomly and die-cut squares (or you can use a punch). This allows to use up paper and saves embossing powders. Thank you for visiting, Maria
