An art journal

The pages for this art journal are cut from a roll of whatman paper and aged with hot coffee, slightly crumpling the paper while still wet. If you never did it before, give it a try, it is such an enjoyable transformation.

After drying I applied Walnut stain Distress ink to the edges and stamped the pages using Hero Arts stamps: Antique Engravings, Hydrangea and Leaf Prints. The sentiment is from Thoughtful Messages.

When dying paper for the journal I had some small extra pieces to test different inks on. I also used it to die cut the lable. After stamping I distressed it with Tea Dye Distress ink and glued it on the blue lable that had been sewn on the cover.

Here'a a link to the tutorial on how to make a fabric cover by Olga Latysheva, a scrapbook artist who lives in St. Petersburg. She also has a tutorial on aging paper with coffee.

Hero Arts.
